About Me

Since 1992 married to a British man, two daughters.

 

1995 BA Honours degree in Applied Language Studies (English, French, Russian) at Thames Valley University London (Ealing), England.
With a special focus on translations in the fields of European law, politics and economics, including one year at the Université d'Aix-Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, France.
BA project titles: „The process of European integration: a comparative study of current British and German attitudes“ and „Les problèmes de l’indépendance de l’Algérie en rapport avec sa politique actuelle et ses conséquences sur les relations franco-algériennes“.

 

2010 MA degree in Archaeology of the Roman Provinces, Classical Archaeology, Papyrology/Epigraphy/ Numismatics (and Prehistoric Archaeology, 8 semesters) at the Universität zu Köln (University of Cologne), Germany.
MA thesis: „Zwei römische Gruben in Zülpich“ (Two Roman Pits in Zülpich).

 

2010-2014 PhD course in Archaeology of the Roman Provinces, Classical Archaeology, Papyrology/Epigraphy/ Numismatics at the Universität zu Köln (University of Cologne), Germany.
PhD project: "Das römerzeitliche Gräberfeld auf dem Gelände des Geriatrischen Zentrums in Zülpich" (The Roman Cemetery on the Premises of the Geriatric Centre in Zülpich).

 

2000-2014 volunteer at the LVR Amt für Bodendenkmalpflege im Rheinland  (Regional Department for the Preservation and Care of Field Monuments), Bonn, Germany.


2011-2012 volunteer at the Römerthermen Zülpich - Museum der Badekultur (Roman Bath of Zülpich - Museum of Bathing Culture), Zülpich, Germany.

 

Since 1997 freelance translator (German, English, French) for business and private clients, language courses (English, French, Latin, Ancient Greek) for children and adults.


Since 2010 specialised translations in archaeology (German, English, French) for authors, publishing houses, museums, local authorities, and institutions.
